General Background
His Awesomeness
[Personality]
"I am a nightmare worse than a devil."
Mysterious and bewildering, Nightmare is the kind who would rather hide in dreams than be out in the "real" world and for him, this works wells as he's actually an incubus with the ability to do so. He isn't known to do much out of the "goodness" of his own heart and favours asked of him often come with a price. Nightmare seems to know many of the answers to the questions that are asked but he's not too keen on sharing them. It doesn't help that he can read minds as he often knows what someone is thinking before they say it and uses this to his advantage. He knows why Alice was brought to Wonderland and was even the one to do so, but he isn't too interested in sharing much of the specifics with her nor is he interested in sharing with Peter what he can do to better his situation. For Nightmare, it is all sort of entertainment as well, which was one of the reasons he agreed to bring Alice - because he was bored and wanted to see what would happen.
And yet despite all the dark and mysteriousness, he's not all that bad of a person. In fact, Nightmare tends to be the opposite of what one would think when hearing 'devil', 'incubus', 'demon', 'nightmare', or any other associated word. For someone who has the power to keep Alice in Wonderland and make her forget about her world, he does not abuse that power. He still abides by the 'rules of the game'. There are times in which he causes her to have a 'headache' and forget what she was thinking about when she's close to remembering the truth about being home and her real existence, but he does not go out of his way to make her forget nor does he actively suppress her memories or alter them.
"I'm a sickly dream demon, you know."
There's another aspect to him as well that makes him less of a monster and more of someone who is just in a powerful position and feared because of it. In all honesty, who has ever heard of a sickly demon? Despite being rather ill, Nightmare has a certain hatred for hospitals and needles, meaning that even if he's on his dying breath he's going to stubbornly deny any request for him to visit one in order to receive treatment. Instead, people are just sort of expected to deal with the fact that if they excite him too much or even shake him a bit too hard, he's probably going to be coughing up blood on them. Though this doesn't mean he's stubborn enough to never accept help. Instead of hospitals, he relies quite heavily on his subordinate, Gray Ringmarc. As it where, Gray is also the one who ends up taking care of Nightmare, even if it sometimes doesn't go as well as Gray would like. Much in the same way that Blood Dupre pushes his work off on Elliot, Nightmare dodges his work by putting it on the much more dedicated and hardworking Gray. It goes without saying that Nightmare is rather selfish and tends to whine as well. Laziness is something he excels at. He shows off a bit of a childish, stubborn side when he argues with Alice after vomiting blood on her. She asks why he doesn't go to the hospital and he informs her that he just doesn't like them and that he doesn't hates needles as well. The whole back and forth between the two show that he can be immature at times when it comes to something he doesn't like or doesn't wish to do.
[Abilities]
Nightmare tends to show a habit of hovering around quite literally. …unfortunately (or fortunately, I guess) this is only in dreams. As well, he has demonstrated having the ability to allow people into the world of Wonderland and being capable of reading minds. He also has the ability to enter into dreams but hey. That works well in Somarium.
[Other important stuff] There'll be permission posts ahoy for mind reading and he'll be only allowed to enter others dreams when they're interactive (or, you know, someone asks for him I guess…..). Oh. He also doesn't really like sunlight or the cold, either. (Un)surprisingly, Nightmare is also not a resident of the Country of Hearts. Instead, he's actually from the Country of Clovers – he just likes to hide out in the dreams of others, which is how me 'met' them. When it's April Season, he can actually physically visit them as well, as evidenced when he showed up at Julius's, looking for someplace warm.
The sun doesn't appear to like him too much, either. Or perhaps it likes him too much. Whichever it is, he usually doesn't like being out when it's sunny too much because he tends to burn and his condition worsens.

A question and answer session with me? Why I'm flattered you think so highly of me that you'd wish to do this. I suppose I can take the time to answer a couple of things…
- What were you doing before now?
Enjoying a nice cup of hot chocolate, if you must know. There's no better way to pass a cold day than by warming up with a nice cup of hot chocolate. Say. Do you think you could make me a cup?
- Do you stand up against authority, go against all odds, and if you could, pierce the heavens with your fighting spirit? If not, would you if you could?
Such silly talk from someone who doesn't understand. Everyone has a role to play, even myself. To try and fight against it would be plain silly as it is what you have been assigned. So to answer your question, no. I wouldn't stand up against authority or go against all odds. I'm not a silly individual who thinks they can change something which they have no power over.
- Your country is in the middle of a war. What do you thi-
[Chuckling softly, he cut the interview off mid-sentence, already knowing where this question was going.] In the middle of a war you say. How do I react? Do I support it? Oh what a good question it is that you ask. I'm sure I'm a part of it somehow but I don't see myself going on an epic quest. It'd be quite a waste of time and effort and quite frankly, I have better things to be doing than worrying about the normal state of affairs.
- Am I asking too many personal or strange questions?
Personal? Perhaps. Strange? No more strange than you are, my dear oddity. Please. Tell me. When will it be my turn? I'm also still waiting on that hot chocolate. It better still be hot when it arrives or I'm going to be disappointed.
- Do you prefer adventure or the peaceful life?
The peaceful life, of course. Adventure is far too much for my fragile body. I'm afraid if I had too much adventure or excitement why, I may just die.
- You discover someone stalking you. Do you call the police or deal with it yourself?
Oh? Someone's stalking me? I'm sure Gray already knows about it. There's no need to be worried. Speaking of Gray, can you go find him? I'm sure he'd love to answer more of your questions here. I'm getting quite tired.
Also? Your non-existent hot chocolate disappointed me. It had a gritty aftertaste and reminded me of ground up chalk.
[Third Person]
Oh this world, how strange it indeed was. And yet, how familiar in a sense as well. Dreams within dreams and worlds that exist unto themselves. It was certainly something he could easily get behind but there was also that slightly annoying factor that it was never quite as fun when you were the person who was being pulled into the dream and into another world. The very thought of it all was enough to make him pause a moment or two and frown. Was this really what it had been like for Alice?
…no. Not at all. It had been her dream in a sense, after all, with familiar faces and something that had been desired. Not this, however. This was not like that at all.
And yet it was an opportunity unlike any other. Smiling suddenly, Nightmare picked up his Dreamberry and gave a quick scroll through the contacts list once more. It was a bit inconvenient to be using such a device but it would do for the time being. It may have seemed to be out of the blue, but nothing was ever done without a purpose in mind. Besides. There was no set rule that stated someone had to contact anyone right away. They were free to lurk as they pleased.
There were a few familiar names that jumped out at him and now seemed like as good of a time as any to reach out and touch some recognizable faces. "Seems like I have a bit of catching up to do. Who shall I call first?" The question to that answer, however, was one that Nightmare already knew the answer to.
[Why do you want to play this character in Somarium?] I think he may actually feel somewhat right at home in Somarium. Dreams motif? Check. Dreams in dreams motif? Double check. Maybe it's his entire fault, too.
[Which rule was your favorite and why?] The one where ally is the greatest. Wait. What? You mean that's not a real rule? Do I have to pick a real one? Do all of them count?
[Where did you hear about Somarium?] I heard it through the grapevine.
